“I just love my Belstaff jacket. Normally I don't go for premium brands, because I find you can usually get good quality with less known brands and lower prices, but I think, with Belstaff, it's worth it. I've had this jacket for 8 years now, I use it a lot, it's wearing well and in all likelihood, it will outlast me. In fact I bought it second hand, for about 50% of the retail price, but it had hardly been worn. Belstaff recommend re-waxing once a year, but it hasn't been exposed to much rain (in heavy rain I also wear a loose fitting rain jacket on top) and so far I haven't needed to re-wax it. It's really warm and comfortable (also comes with an inner, removable, wool lining - but I've never been cold enough to use it) it's pretty well armoured, and you feel safe. It has loads of pockets, with poppers, and an inside zipper pockets, all of which are pretty easy to access. I'm glad I made the investment.”

“I constantly got complimented on how good my ass looked by my friends. I thought they also made me look and feel really good and they fit me really well considering it’s hard to find pants that actually fit. I also rode through an incredibly heavy storm in them for roughly 40 minutes and probably only the last 5 minutes I actually started to get wet through the crotch but the legs themselves were fine. They are also super adjustable. They have a removable winter liner too. I wore them until they physically teared apart from me gaining weight but even then they were holding together incredibly well for so long. I have small calves and also was not wearing them with the right boots so that made the fabric only slightly bulky down at my calves which can be adjustable with Velcro attached. Also in summer they can be a bit sticky on the legs without the inner liner but that’s only if you’re sweating badly so I’d recommend wearing some pants under if you do. I can’t speak for their protection from crashes though but I’ve dropped my bike in them and they didn’t have any marks. I’ve thrown them out and can’t remember the size but would definitely buy another pair and definitely recommend them!”

Riding Hoodie

“The ViVeloci Riding Hoodie is a great casual style piece of gear for those that prefer gear more like regular clothing in appearance. It is AA rated with a Kevlar layer, and comes with CE1 back, shoulder, and elbow armor. This can be upgraded as it is removable. They run about $210 USD regular price, but you can get 15% off your first purchase or wait for designated sales (holidays, International Women Riders Day, etc) to get it discounted. I got mine around Christmas for $140 USD. They do run LARGE, I ordered my usual size (2XL in outerwear) and I could easily have gotten an XL. If you want a more fitted feel, definitely size down. WCL MFG Zippered Hoodie

“The WCL MFG zippered hoodie is a great option for those who prefer their gear to resemble casual clothing. This hoodie is fully Kevlar lined (although it is not advertised with an abrasion rating), and comes equipped with upgradable CE1 armor (I did swap the back pad out for a Level 2). This hoodie is very comfortable, although will be warm in hot/humid climates like all gear. Coupled with a cooling base layer, I have no issues riding in the GA summer. As they do not have women's specific cut/size, I ordered in a men's XL and it fits perfectly. It is a unisex/looser fit, so size down if you want it more fitted. I ordered white with the black graphics, which is bright and noticeable. The zippered version is available in grey/white, black/white, and red/white; the pullover version is available in black/white, white/black, navy/white, grey/white, and charcoal/white. “The Speed And Strength Cat Outta Hell hoodie is a good choice for someone who wants their gear to resemble casual clothing. This hoodie is a cotton poly blend with mesh lining, and as such is not abrasion rated and may not provide the best slide protection. Although it is a bit lighter than other hoodies and may not be too warm. It is armored with removable CE rated back, shoulder, and elbow impact protection. The design has some reflectiveness to it, and is available in white on black, red on black, and charcoal on black. This is a woman's fitted hoodie, and is true to size. I ordered this in a 2XL and it fits very well. It features expandable hip "joints," three belt loop snaps, and thumb loops; and interior pocket, and zippered side pockets. “The Flickstreet/Glowrider gloves from MotoLoot are an alternative to typical hook and loop (Velcro) closure gloves that can wear out from being removed several times per ride. Their innovative closure system features a magnetic clip with a ratcheting system that tightens elastic bands as you click it. They feature knuckle and palm protection, and improved grip. They are comfortable, well made gloves available in men's or women's sizing, with either red or purple color accents on black; or the reflective version which has a completely reflective outer layer. They reflect very brightly! The reflective version is thicker due to the outer reflective layer, and as such may not be suitable for summer/hot weather riding. They run about $100 USD regular price, but can often be purchased on sale for about $80 USD.”

“The Noru Kuruzo glove is an understated black leather glove with knuckle protection. They are very comfortable and flexible, not too warm for hot weather, and are an exceptional bargain as they can typically be purchased for $25-$30 USD. I find the fit to be very comfortable, especially as someone with shorter length pinky fingers.”

“The Noru Kiryu mesh gloves are a great option for hot/humid weather as they are vented and also mesh. They feature knuckle protection and a very grippy suede palm. Available in black, white/black, and pink/black for women's sizes and grey/black, hi vis/black, and black with red accents for men's sizes. Very comfortable glove, especially in the heat. They are typically $25 USD and as such are a bargain.”

Women's Jeggings

“The Eagle Leather women's jeggings are a skinny jean style pant featuring Kevlar lining. They have some stretchiness to them and are quite comfortable. I am a curvy woman with a longer torso and shorter legs, and I typically have an issue finding pants that fit me (in general, not just riding gear). I was pleasantly surprised when these fit quite well. I wear them throughout the hot summer, and they are quite comfortable. They are $200 USD for the unarmored version; I did not purchase the armored version, although you can opt for included armor for an additional $20 USD. Note, while they are Kevlar lined, they are not abrasion rated. I typically wear a 2XL (18-20) in pants but ordered the 3XL in these pants. If you are on the edge of the size, consider sizing up. Available in black or blue, XS-3XL”

Phoenix Leggings

“The Highway 21 Phoenix leggings are aramid lined, and can accommodate or be ordered with armor. I did not opt for armor as armor in pants is uncomfortable for me. These pants are thick, and fully lined; quite stretchy and surprisingly comfortable in the heat. They fit down over my boots as well. I typically wear a women's 2XL (18-20) in pants, and ordered these in a 20. They fit very well and are flattering. They are not abrasion rated, although aramid lined. Features side pockets. Normally $150 USD, can often be found on sale but do sell out quickly.”

Spartan 1.2

“Shark makes a great helmet for a great price. I purchased a Spartan 1.2 for about $180 USD, and it is DOT, ECE 22.06, and Sharp (four stars) rated. Features front and top vents, internal sunshield, D-ring, antimicrobial/moisture wicking bamboo interior padding, "Easy Fit" for eyeglasses, and rear aero; also came with a pinlock. This helmet is very comfortable, and has average wind noise at 65+ mph. The visors are "hot swappable" with many color, chrome, or tinted options. Intermediate Oval. Available in black, white, red, blue, and grey. This particular model is discontinued, but you can purchase in some areas. There are newer, improved versions of the Spartan lineup.”

“Living in this part of Spain, I don't need to wear fully waterproof, cold weathe boots very often - so these boots from VQuattro absolutely suit my needs. They're very comfortable, not only to ride but also when walking around, trousers fit over the tops quite happily. They are lightly armoured on the inside and outside of the ankle bone and the leather construction is fairly sturdy. Laces take longer to do up/undo than velcro straps, but it's not a major inconvenience. I've worn these boots a lot over the last 4 years, and theyre still in good shape.They're reasonably water resistant, although not suitable for long oeriods of rain, then I need to switch to a different pair of fully waterproof boots.”

“It's pretty warm most of the year roud, so I don't use these gloves that often, only if I take a trip to warmer climates. They have served their pirpose, but to be honest, I'm not that impressed. They're not 100% waterproof, and when riding in the rain, water seeps through into the interior lining. dmittedly, they're good for an hour or so, but once wet, it's difficult to get them dry again. Also, the water tends to make the interior lining swell up and it's difficult to get the gloves on. Additionally, their quite stiff, which results in a lack of 'feel' on the brake lever, resulting in slightly snatchy braking. They have a bizarre wrist strap with a buckle and popper, which is almost impossibly fiddly to get on and off. I think this compnay (InBike) specialise in cycle gear, and they've added some motorcycle gloves to their range, but not very successfully, imo. I paid 75 euros (approx 120 AUD) . They've been ok, I've needed to use them about a dozen times over the last few year, but when I need to replace them I'll look elsewhere”

“I'm a fan of LS2 gear, I think they offer good value as their gear is relatively low priced. I live in south east Spain. temperatures here almost never go below freezing, and I can wear these gloves pretty much all year roud, I also have a pair of winter gloves if I travel to colder places or if we do get cold spells. I've worn these gloves pretty much every day for 3 years now, and so far they show almost no signs of wear. Previous gloves I've had have worn out (often on the left hand ring finger with clutch use) and the wrist wrappings have also pulled away through regular use - but these are really sturdy, while also flexible and the leather now fits my hands really snugy”
