Last updated 20 May 2026

MotoMuse ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information when you visit ride-with-muse.lovable.app (the "Site") or interact with our community. We are based in Australia and comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact forms: your name, email address, and the contents of any message you send us.
  • Review submissions: rider details you choose to share (name, height, experience, location), bike details, photos, ratings and written commentary.
  • Email sign-ups: your email address and whether you've opted in to marketing updates.
  • Account information: if you create an account, your display name, avatar and login credentials managed by our authentication provider.

Information we collect automatically

  • Analytics: page views, referring pages, approximate session information and the path you take through the Site. This is collected to help us understand which content is useful.
  • Device & log data: browser type, device type, language and timestamps.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: small data files stored in your browser to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure traffic. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the Site may not work properly.

2. How we use your information

  • To publish reviews, articles and community content you submit.
  • To send you newsletters and updates if you've opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time).
  • To respond to enquiries sent through our contact form.
  • To improve the Site, fix problems and understand what readers find helpful.
  • To keep the Site secure and prevent abuse.

3. Third-party services and integrations

We use a small number of trusted third parties to run MotoMuse. Each provider handles your data under their own privacy policies.

  • Hosting & database: our hosting and database provider stores Site content, review submissions, contact records and analytics events.
  • Email: contact form messages and newsletter sign-ups are delivered and stored using our email provider.
  • Pinterest: when we publish a review or article, we may push the cover image, title, short description and a link back to the post to the official MotoMuse Pinterest account via Pinterest's API. We do not share your personal information, email address, or unpublished submissions with Pinterest. If a review you submit is approved and published, the public version of that review (image, bike details, your displayed rider name, and quick take) may appear as a Pin on our Pinterest profile.
  • Instagram & Skool: we link to our community spaces on these platforms. Visiting those links is governed by their own privacy policies.

4. How we store and protect your information

Your information is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with access controls, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and authenticated database access. Only authorised MotoMuse administrators can view contact records, submitter email addresses, or unpublished submissions. We retain personal information only for as long as needed to provide the Site or as required by law.

5. Disclosure of your information

We do not sell your personal information. We will only disclose your information:

  • to the third-party services listed above, strictly to run the Site;
  • where you've given consent (for example, publishing a review you've submitted);
  • where required or authorised by Australian law.

6. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Correct information that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete;
  • Request removal of your personal information, including published reviews, contact records or newsletter sign-ups;
  • Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email, or by contacting us;
  • Complain to us about how we've handled your information, and if not satisfied, to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

To exercise any of these rights, email us via the contact page. We aim to respond within 30 days.

7. Overseas storage

Some of our service providers store data outside Australia (for example, in the United States or Europe). Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure those providers handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

8. Children

MotoMuse is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us and we'll remove it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site.
